Professor E. Amy Emerhi specializes in forestry and sustainable natural resource management. She has 35-years of field and academic experience in environmental impact assessment, mangrove ecosystem restoration, sustainable business planning, and eco-engineering. She has planned, designed, and executed environmental projects for major oil and gas production and service companies, state government agencies, and non-governmental organizations in Nigeria and internationally. Professor Emerhi is currently a lecturer in the Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Forestry and Wildlife Management, at Taraba State University, Nigeria and is working with UNDP and the Global Environmental Fund on mainstreaming gender in the Niger Delta Biodiversity Project. She is also the Chief Research Officer of the International Institute for Mangrove Research in Nigeria and National President of International Association for Impact Assessment, Nigerian Affiliate (IAIA-Nigeria) now known as the Niger Delta Center for Impact Assessment and Community Development (NDCIACD), whose registered members presently number some 700 in state chapters across Nigeria., whose registered members presently number some 700 in state chapters across Nigeria.
